Student Educational Access Act of 2012

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is a done deal for schools. Forget about the schools trying to figure out if they are going to do it or not, that’s a moot point. The students and parents (that can) have already made that decision for us. We have students with special needs, and laws that require that schools support them. Laws that require support for English Learners. It’s time that we put in place laws for students for limited access to mobile computing devices. We need to ensure that all children are guaranteed access to personal mobile devices. Our continued approach of artificially limiting our students abilities to learn by not providing all students access is a form of mental slavery.

...stepping off soapbox

*Mobile referring to anything you can carry in a backpack.
